William Thomas Peacock, 67, of Crawfordsville died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at home. He is now at peace after a heroic battle with cancer.
Tom was born July 28, 1953, at Crawfordsville, to Fredrick and Margaret Murphy Peacock. He married Jamie Carroll of Crawfordsville in 1986.
He was in car sales for 43 years and most recently the owner of Peacock Motors in Crawfordsville. He prided himself on repeat customers. If you had a car question, he was your guy. “Tommy” was a loyal friend, father, husband, grandpa, brother and uncle whose humor and love will be greatly missed.
He enjoyed the NFL, college basketball, fishing, trivia, classic rock and Sunday dinners with family. He made life-long friends around the country, including New Hampshire, Arizona, Florida and California.
Tom was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge and Eagles of Crawfordsville. He attended Mace United Methodist Church.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Jamie Peacock; son William James “Jake” Peacock; step-son Shane (Alyssa) Powell; step-daughter Joni (James) Jeffrie; and his four grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Elizabeth and Graye; sisters, Pati and Junie Allen of Deland, Florida and Sandy (Howard) Morrill of Sparta, Michigan; brother John Peacock of Deland, Florida; and mother-in-law Sue Carroll; and a large flock of Peacock cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law James Carroll; sister-in-law Vickey Durbin; nephew Stephen Allen; and his beloved dog Sammy.
Cremation has been chosen and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Tom’s name to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County or Mace United Methodist Church.
