Windy Hill Pet Ranch is hosting a sporting event for dogs this weekend. There will be Farm Dog and Fetch trials throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.
The trials are pass/fail with one handler and one dog. Each pair is competing against a standard set of rules, not the other participants.
There are levels to the trials; novice, intermediate, and advanced. The trial gets more difficult as the dog advances. Dogs will win titles for passing the trials.
Windy Hill, located at 6672 E. U.S. 136, expects to see out of state dogs and handlers registering due to the recently added Fetch trial. The trial is only a few years old so there aren’t a lot of clubs offering it yet.
The event is AKC sanctioned and regulations will be closely followed.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and is open to the public. There also will be vendors.
