Winton “Lee” Jackson, 84, died March 14, 2021, at Ruskin, Florida, with his son at his side.

Lee was born May 13, 1936, at Tangier, Indiana, to John and Alta Maris Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Harold Jackson; two sons, Raymond Jackson and Ronald Jackson; and granddaughter Jessica Jackson. He also was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Wilma Joan Lewis Jackson, whom he married on Aug. 26, 1956.

He is survived by son Randy Jackson of Gibsonton, Florida; daughter Paula (Daniel) Dye of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren, Jacob Jackson of Statesboro, Georgia, Rona (Josh) Query of Avon, Sarah Jackson of Statesboro, Georgia, Bud Pettis of San Francisco, California and Billy Jackson of San Francisco, California; eight great-grandchildren; and brother Charles (Charlie, Rex) Jackson of Crawfordsville.

Lee served in the Navy from 1956 to 1962, and then worked at RR Donnelley in Crawfordsville from 1964 until he retired. Lee also co-owned the Marshall, Indiana Laundromat for many years. He was involved with the Moose and Eagles Lodges both in Florida and Indiana, and was a member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in both Florida and Indiana for his friends and family from both states. The Florida celebration will be held at this favorite hang-out, the Bullfrog Creek Bar in Gibsonton, Florida. The Indiana location will be determined later.
