Mace United Methodist Church will welcome WISH TV channel 8 weatherman/meteorologist Randy Ollis on Saturday as he shares his experience on a recent journey to the Holy Land. The presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
Ollis arrived in Indianapolis to work at WISH TV channel 8 news 36 years ago in 1984 following his meteorology career in Dayton, Ohio, Wausau, Wisconsin and Oklahoma City. He received his bachelor of science degree in meteorology from Northern Illinois University and holds the seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Ollis and wife Alison celebrate 39 years of marriage this year and are the proud parents of four daughters.
Prior to the program the public is invited 5-6 p.m. to join the “chuckwagon” chow line for dinner in the fellowship hall. The menu is homemade pulled pork BBQ, baked “cowboy” beans, creamy “trail” cole slaw, Texas sheet cake and drinks. The meal is free-will donation and will help support the Teen’s 2020 Summer Mission Trip to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and the special Events committee that hosts various events throughout the year.
