VEEDERSBURG — Leading the Fountain Central High School Class of 2023 as valedictorian is Chase Martin Witsman. He is the son of BJ and Krista Witsman of Covington.
Witsman also is the class president, National Honor Society president, Spanish Club president, FCA member, four-time All Bi-County Swim champion and three-time All-WRC swim champion.
He plans to attend Indiana State University to major in political science and minor in business administration.
Samuel Jay Morris is the class salutatorian. He is the son of Brent and Donna Morris of Veedersburg.
In high school, he was a three-year member of Spanish Club, two-year member of Drama Club and two-year member of National Honor Society. Morris also participated two years in the Science Academic Super Bowl; two years in the Math Academic Super Bowl, serving as team captain for one year; and six years in the Robotics Club, where he was head programmer for five years and received control award this year for first tech challenge.
Morris graduated with an academic honors diploma; National Indigenous Recognition Program 2021-22 from the College Board; and National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program 2021-22 from the College Board,
He plans to attend Purdue University to study electrical engineering.
