Gary Wood plans to retire Feb. 27 after more than four decades of dedication to Lakeside Book Co.
After more than 44 years of service, Wood is closing a chapter that began in August 1979. Throughout his tenure, he has held many positions, bringing dedication, hard work and a wealth of experience to every role.
Beyond his career, Wood is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Marcy Wood, cherish time with their daughter, Megan Wood-Freeman, and son-in-law, Devon Freeman. His greatest joy comes from his grandsons — Elijah, Gabriel and Bentlee — who keep him busy and smiling.
In retirement, Wood looks forward to indulging in his passion for collecting pocket knives and spending quality time with his loved ones. A man of faith, he is an active member of Life Church in Lafayette.
