The Crawfordsville cross country teams competed at the Puckett Invitational at South Putnam on Saturday to kick off the 2020 season.
The Athenian boys team placed third out of eight teams with a score of 64
Hunter Hutchison led the Athenians with a third-place finish in a time of 19:20, while Ryan Miller was fifth in 19:42.
Ian Hensley placed 13th in 20:39, while Nathaniel Million was 19th in 21:03, Arthur Ruano 24th in 21:57, and Peter Kearns 30th in 22:41.
On the girls side, the Athenians were fourth out of six teams with a score of 84.
Halle Smith led Crawfordsville with a ninth-place finish in a time of 24:19. Elyse Widmer was 13th in 24:48, and Skylah Strawser 18th in 25:42.
Olivia Biddle was 20th with a time of 25:57, Gabrielle Warren 24th in 27:16. and Olivia Fichter 31st in 31:27.
Crawfordsville returns to the course on Saturday at the Fountain Central Grand Prix.
