XC: Fry leads trio of runners to semi-state

Crawfordsville’s Madison Fry and Drake Hayes were not going to be denied a trip to the cross country semi-state.

Fry placed 10th overall with a time of 19:11 in the girls’ race, while Drake Hayes was 22nd in the boys’ race with a time of 16:37 to advance as individuals. Southmont’s Faith Allen also advanced on the girls’ side with a 12th place finish in an effort of 19:23.

Crawfordsville’s girls team finished seven overall in the team standings, while the boys were ninth. 

Hunter Hutchison was 38th in 16:59, Eli Widmer 43rd in 17:10, while Devin Burris was 74th in 18:12, Arthur Ruano 75th in 18:21, and Luke Stewart 77th in 18:27. Cole Watt was 88th in 19:14.

Elyse Widmer was 43rd for the Athenians in a time of 21:10, while Shelby Greene was 50th in 21:25, Halle Smith 51st in 21:40. Olivia Biddle was 69th in 22:30, Kiara Martinez 83rd in 25:24, and Olivia Fichter 85th in 25:55.

At Benton Central, Fountain Central’s boys team placed 10th, while individuals from the girls team and North Montgomery concluded their seasons.

Carson Pietrzak led the Mustangs with a 54th place finish in a time of 18:38, while Justin Butts was 65th in 19:13, and Jacob Rice 66th in 19:18. Kyle Mellady was 71st in 19:29, Micah Trusty 81st in 20:11, Nathan Solomon 83rd in 20:26, and Ethan Mellady 87th in 22:14.

North Montgomery’s Elijah McCartney placed 43rd overall in the boys’ race with a time of 18:14, while Claire Bonwell placed 53rd in a time of 22:40 in the girls’ race.

Tyler Bowling placed 58th in the girls’ race for Fountain Central with a time of 23:09, while Nadya Rahm-Bradford was 73rd in 24:29.
