The Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau recently received the 2020 YSB Program Award given by the Indiana Youth Services Association.

The award is presented to the agency serving a significant number of youth in their service area through quality prevention programs that deliver strong positive outcomes for youth served. Service delivery is based on proven programs that incorporate Positive Youth Development and Trauma Informed Care and program evaluation that is continuous to ensure the needs of young people are being met.

The Montgomery County YSB has stepped up to meet the needs of their community youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a single quarter, from April to June 2020 they distributed more than 15,500 meals through the Nourish Backpack program. They continue to adapt programming to meet the needs of youth in their area and demonstrated positive changes in all YSB outcomes. The Montgomery County YSB is a valuable asset within their community and participates in county wide initiatives dedicated to the improvement of the well being of children and their families. Their dedication and drive to make a difference speaks to why they are deserving of this award.

“We are so honored to receive this award from the Indiana Youth Services Association,” said Karen Branch, executive director. “It is a testament to the work and commitment of our entire staff, volunteers and supporters. This year is our 50th anniversary of operations and we are proud of the work we have done to serve the youth of Montgomery County. We will continue to work to achieve our vision of a community where every child is respected, nurtured and protected ”
