YSB postpones Dancing with Montgomery County Stars

Because of issues related to COVID-19 and concern for the safety and well being of all of community members, the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau is postponing Dancing with the Montgomery County Stars. The event, scheduled for May 9, will now be conducted late summer or early fall.

Organizers are working with the venue to find a date that works, but this may take some time as everyone is reacting to this situation as it evolves. This decision was also made in keeping with Governor Holcomb’s ban on events or groups of more than 10 people and with the recommendations from the CDC to cancel or postpone events for at least the next eight weeks.

“Dancing with the Montgomery County Stars is a critical fundraiser that allows us to serve the most vulnerable youth in our community, however we believe the most important issue at this time is helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” said Karen Branch, executive director of the Youth Service Bureau. “As a result, we know this is the best course of action for the community and its residents. The YSB office will continue to be open and we are here to support the community in every way possible during this time. It is a time for our community to pull together to make sure we are taking care of each other.”
