Roy Alexander Jr., 73, of Lima, Ohio, and formerly of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at 7:26 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 26, 1950, at Columbus, Indiana, to Roy and Reba (Ferrill) Alexander Sr., who preceded him in death. On Feb. 12, 1988, he married Teresa R. (Turney) Alexander who preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 2008.
Surviving are his children, Shane (Jodi) Alexander of Wapakoneta, Rik (Paula) Alexander of St. Marys, Josh (Roxie) Turney of Lima, Jennifer Alexander and Katelyn Alexander, both of Lima, and Stacy (Alex) McAdams of Delphos; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Justin, Abigail, Ethan, Eli, Jonathon, Matthew, Kevin, Aaron, Alyssa, Dante, Amiah, Ariyana, Mikylah, Todd Jr., Isabella, Oliver, Rylan, Merah and Baylor; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Adabelle, Amelia, Baylor, Kimber, Stevie, and one on the way, Alaina, Josiah, Phoenix, Amelia “Goose” and Waylon.
He was also a brother to the late Don (Pat) Alexander of Columbus, Indiana, Eva (Ed) Baldwin, Edna LeBeau, Bobby (Fran) Alexander and Dianne (Rex) Cooksey, all of Crawfordsville, and the late Carolyn Sue Estelle and his dog, Kasey.
He was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School. He was a lifelong truck driver, working for Nickles Bakery and Roeder Cartage. He was a fan of Bill Elliott and Kasey Kahne, Da Bears, Boston Celtics and Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed returning to his home state of Indiana. He loved family dinners and spending time with his grandchildren, cooking and eating chocolate.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 5 at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Lima, Ohio. His service will begin at 6 p.m, with the Rev. Paul Scannell to officiate the service.
