Robert Lee Elmore of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday morning, April 25, 2024, at home. He was 86.

Bob worked at RR Donnelley and also took care of the family farm. He was a member of the Donnelley Club, Alamo Cemetery Board and Indiana Herpetological Society. He graduated from Pine Village high school.

Born Aug. 19, 1937, at Crawfordsville, he was the son of James B. Elmore and Geraldine Ena Philpott Elmore. He married Janet Ann Landon on April 28, 1957, at the Battle Ground Methodist Church. She survives.

Surviving family includes: wife Janet Elmore of Crawfordsville; two sons, Jim (Lorena) Elmore and John (Ginger) Elmore; daughter Brenda Simpson; grandchildren, Lee (Kim), Patrick (Erin), Dana (Nick), Eddie, Joey (Kelly), Josh, Isaiah and Neenah; great-grandchildren, Gibson, Hazel, Asher, Isabel, Luke, Peyton, Grace, Audrey, Caroline, Brooke and Ben; and sister Phyllis Brewer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Shane Elmore, brother-in-law Martin (Buzz) Landon; brother-in-law Howard Brewer; and son-in-law David Simpson.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave. Services will begin at 6 p.m., led by Pastor Kevin Howey. Burial will take place at the Alamo Cemetery at a later date.
