17 businesses compete for window decorating awards

People’s Choice voting ends Dec. 15

The annual Downtown Holiday Window Contest has returned for its third year. Seventeen downtown business are entered to win a prize in one of four categories.

The annual  event is sponsored by Tri-County Bank and Trust, Crawfordsville/Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Crawfordsville Main Street, Visit Montgomery County, the Journal Review and WCDQ Country 106.3.

A panel of judges will select first and second place winners in categories for Best Overall Theme, Best Montgomery County Bicentennial Theme and Best Small Window.

“There are some very creative and fun reflections of eras throughout 200 years of Montgomery County history on display,” said Sue Lucas, CMS director.

The public is invited to vote on the “People’s Choice” winner and may do so by visiting the Chamber’s website at www.crawfordsvillechamber.com and  select “Events & News/Holiday Window Contest” to vote. Entrants in all categories are eligible for the People’s Choice award.

Event sponsors encourage everyone to head downtown to see the windows in-person before casting your a vote.

“Stop in and say hello, and maybe make a purchase to support your favorite small businesses,” Lucas added.

Voting ends midnight Dec. 15. Winners will be announced at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 16 during WCDQ 106.3 FM Hometown Happenings broadcast live on WCDQ’s Facebook page, and also published in the Journal Review.
