A New Tradition

Couple lights up corner to help brighten Christmas

Posted

Ryan and Kimberly Brooks are starting what they hope will be a long-standing tradition known as Christmas Corner.

The rural Crawfordsville couple is asking community members to pull together and donate so they can make Christmas wishes come true for local families.

The Christmas Corner at C.R. 450S and C.R. 275W will include many Christmas decorations and more than 20 Christmas trees. Five of the trees will be decorated by the Brooks family. The other 15 trees are in need of sponsors. Individuals, businesses or organizations can make a $100 donation, pick a tree and decorate it for all to see.

The couple also is accepting monetary donations in any amount.

The Brooks family is planning five sessions for families to visit Santa, walk through the decorations at Christmas Corner and then warm up by a campfire. Hot chocolate and food also will be available. Santa visits are planned from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 2 and Dec. 8; 1-3 p.m. Dec. 10; and 4-7 p.m. Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.

For more information about this holiday project or to become a sponsor or make a donation, call 318-773-1299 or 765-366-0941 or email rkbrooks0921@yahoo.com.

All donations will go to Montgomery County families.
