The 17th annual Shopper’s Paradise Holiday Expo sponsored by the Montgomery County Extension Homemakers will feature arts, crafts and commercial booths from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 400 Parke Ave., Crawfordsville.

This is the association’s major fundraising event for the year and still offers a majority of hand-crafted, homemade and one-of-a-kind items. The event is held in one building on one floor on one day. It is handicap accessible. It is open to the public with free admission.

Along with the vendor booths, the Homemakers offer a large bake sale, noodles for the holidays, nuts-by-the-pound and reasonably priced Rada Cutlery.

Montgomery County Extension Homemakers is an educational association through Purdue Cooperative Extension Service. Educational resource material is provided by Purdue University.

Celebrating over 100 years the mantra of the association is believing that the greatest institution in the world is the home. The mission statement of the association is to strengthen families through continuing education, leadership development and volunteer community support. Each county in the state is made up of individual clubs that comprise the membership.

The Homemakers goal is to nurture families and homes across the state of Indiana with lessons in good nutrition, child development, family relations and management of time, energy and money to name a few. The Montgomery

County homemakers depend on their fundraising events to help them afford to help provide backpacks and school supplies through the Family Nutrition Program, promoting early childhood literacy through First Books reading program, Riley Cheer Guild, nutrition programs, donating to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research, providing educational scholarships, supporting the 4-H program, Ronald McDonald House and more.
