Elisha McColloh, executive director, and Nicole Wilson, managing director, of Achaius Ranch spoke to the Crawfordsville Rotary Club on Thursday. Achaius Ranch is located near Ladoga and is a place where people can spend time in nature, with horses and other animals, many of which have been abused, neglected, and unwanted. A Christ-centered, loving environment that helps bring healing and growth to the young people. Achaius Ranch offers many programs such as Equine Assisted Learning, Ecotherapy Nature-based Therapy and a Summer Youth Program for ages 8-18. One morning per week for eight weeks, there are group activities and individualized attention. Why is Achaius Ranch needed? The need is greater than what our community can address. Teachers are struggling to meet the needs of their students. Drugs, vape use explosion, alcohol use, decreased motivation, broken homes, anxiety, anger, depression and aggression are on the rise.
