Albert Lowe, 88, of the Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette, and formerly of Ladoga, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020.

Albert was born May 9, 1932, the son of Earl and Letha (Emmert) Lowe of Ladoga. He went to school in Alamo and at a young age quit school to help on the farm. At age 15, he started driving a truck hauling bricks in Crawfordsville. In 1952, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri and then was stationed overseas in Korea until 1954. After being discharged from the Army, he went home to marry the love of his life Marie (Griggs) on Aug. 20, 1954.

Albert continued to drive a truck. He drove for many companies over the years, but one he loved the most was RGT Trucking, Waveland, owned by Ralph and Shane Jones. He drove for RGT Trucking for 19 years.

Albert was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1431 of Crawfordsville, Bainbridge Saddle Club. He was a member of the Ladoga Baptist Church. He had his team of miniature horses that he loved to take to the Indiana State Fair on Farmer’s Day.

Survivors include: children, Becky (David Sr.) Nelson of Crawfordsville, Dianna (Steve) Padgett of New Richmond, Tim (Becky) Lowe of Cairo, Nebraska, Freda Terman of Noblesville, LaDonna Hall of Crawfordsville and Albert Jr. (Shelly) Lowe of Crawfordsville; four brothers, Harold (Judy) Lowe, Wallace (Nola) Lowe of Ladoga, Clyde (Beverly) Lowe, Lester (Candy) Lowe of Florida; three sisters, Virginia Weninger, Alberta Gerald and Gladys McIntyre, all of Ladoga; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years; his parents; daughter Teresa Johnson; three brothers, David, Daniel and Richard; three sisters, Margie, Ada and Alice; granddaughter Lynette Davidson; and great-granddaughter Brailynn Bryant.

A celebration of life is planned for spring 2021.
