Annual Bridgeton Rendezvous slated for the weekend

The annual Bridgeton Rendezvous will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m Sunday. Enjoy a taste of authentic pioneer living in a beautiful historic setting. Take a trip back to the 18th century as you walk through the camp and talk with participants portraying living history. 

A tentative schedule of events includes (all times subject to change depending on weather and other activities):

Saturday

8 a.m. Registration for the Memorial Shoot at the 1822 Log Cabin

10 a.m. Memorial Shoot

1 p.m. Hawk & Knife Throw

2 p.m. Primitive Bow Shoot

2-7 p.m. VFD Fish Fry at the new firehouse

6 p.m. Friendship Fire

Sunday

11 a.m. Novelty Shoot

2 p.m. Skillet Throw

Both Days

Hearth Cooking at the 1822 Log Cabin

Live demonstrations at the Bridgeton Mill

Food available at Collom’s Store and the Mill Snack Shop

Vendors in the 1878 Barn and Artisan’s Barn at the Mill

See trading posts and skilled artisans at work including blacksmiths, woodworkers, spinning, tape weaving, chair caning, block printing, and many more fun learning activities for the kids.

For lunch, visit Collom’s General Store for biscuits and gravy, sandwiches and cobbler or the Mill Snackshop for a variety of goodies including fresh baked bread. Stop by the 1822 Log Cabin and see a hearth cooking demonstration including the popular “chicken-on-a-string.”

Visit the Bridgeton Grist Mill for an 1800’s grain grinding demonstration and try some fresh stone-ground Parke County products. Shops will be open including the 1878 House, Liberty Tree Shop and Old Barn New. Visit the 1878 Barn, the Artisan Barn at the Mill and Collom’s Store for original artwork, handmade crafts and authentic suttlers. Don’t forget to take a stroll through the beautiful Bridgeton Covered Bridge.

No admission charges to any of these events and parking is free.
