Athenians fall to Scecina on mat

The Crawfordsville wrestling team dropped a non-conference match to Scecina 41-21 on Thursday night.

Clayton Owens picked up a win by fall over Daniel Linares at 145 pounds, while Richard Pan defeated Josh Thomas 12-8 at 138. Collin Rusk (160) and Kalob Brown (285) both received forfeits.

“Overall I thought we wrestled hard,” Crawfordsville coach Chris Ervin said. “I told the kids that we need to wrestle smarter in certain situations.Effort better than it has been in a week or so. Scecina was tough and solid pretty much through their lineup.”

Crawfordsville is back in action on Saturday at the SAC meet.
