The Indiana Basketball coaches association revealed its Academic All-State Teams for the 2023-24 season. Coaches nominate senior athletes that have a 3.5 GPA, a class rank in the upper 25% of their class, and either an SAT score of 1100 or an ACT composite score of 24.
There were several area boys and girls athletes who made honorable mention this season.
Southmont’s Chloe Jenkins along with the Mounties Jacob Fox, Kyler McCandless and Carter Hubble are earned honorable mentions. 2023-24 Journal Review Player of the Year DeLorean Mason also earned an honorable mention for an All-State selection.
North Montgomery’s Ross Dyson and Crawfordsville’s Tyson Fuller also made the list for the Chargers and Athenians respectively. Fountain Central’s Owen Acton also was an honorable mention for Fountain Central.
In total there 422 players across the state that received honorable mention.
