Barbara A. LaFollette of Darlington passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 11, 2024, at Franciscan Health of Lafayette. She was 90.

Barbara was an avid Indiana Pacers fan. She liked cooking, baking, making candy and gardening. She worked at First National Bank, then Ladoga Federal Savings and Loan and finally at Country Mark Co-Op. She was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Shannondale.

Born Feb. 26, 1933, at Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Stephen M. Smith and Marie E. LaFollette Smith. She graduated from Darlington High School.

Surviving family includes: son David M. LaFollette (Jill) of Darlington; daughter Debra A. Curl of Frankfort; brother John Richard Smith of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren, Carrie Dale (Ryan), Hope Luper (fiance’ Mike Ziebarth), Mike Curl and Carin Messick (Cade); and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Wilma Jane Vannice; brother James Robert Smith; and granddaughter Patricia LaFollette.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville. Services will begin at 1 p.m. The family asks that attire be weather appropriate and less formal. After the service, she will be laid to rest at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.

The family requests that rather than sending flowers, please make a donation in memory of Barbara to the Bethel Presbyterian Church of Shannondale, 1052 N. C.R. 1075E, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
