Bicentennial Committee seeks local unsung heroes, centenarians

Posted

The Montgomery County Bicentennial Committee has been busy commemorating the county’s 200th birthday in a variety of ways this year. They are continuing to celebrate this milestone by asking for nominations of special members of the community in the following categories:

Unsung Heroes of Montgomery County:

Nominees can be anyone, alive or deceased, who has had a positive impact within the county in the past 200 years. Ideally this would be someone who in your opinion has not received proper recognition for their contributions. To fill out a nomination form, visit tinyurl.com/MoCoHeroes

Montgomery County Centenarians:

Help the Bicentennial Committee compile a list of local centenarians! If you know someone who turned, or will turn 100 years old in 2022, as well as those over 100 years old, please submit their name at tinyurl.com/MoCo100

Nominations for both Unsung Heroes and Local Centenarians should be submitted by Sept. 30 for a chance to be featured on the Montgomery County Bicentennial Facebook page (facebook.com/MoCo200Years) and local publications. Paper copies of both forms are also available at the Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County.
