The Crawfordsville Board of Public Works and Safety entered into annual agreements with two local organizations on Wednesday.

The first agreement was with the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County for its services in the amount of $137,782.

The second agreement was with the Crawfordsville Farmers Market and Jennifer Forney, the new market manager. The manager’s wage will be $16 per hour, not to exceed $6,000. The market is open Saturdays at Pike Place from April through October.

The board approved a request from the Crawfordsville Police Department to reserve four parking spaces on North Green Street near the north side of the police station for the annual FOP Food Basket program. A refrigerated truck will be parked there ahead of the FOP giveaway from 8-11 a.m. Saturday.

The board also approved an amendment to the construction agreement between the city and Plant Brothers Excavating and Construction for the sewer extension project on the Purple Heart Parkway. Substantial completion is set for May 31, 2024, with the system being fully operational by Aug. 31, 2024.

The board tabled action on the bids for the pedestrian crossings at Elmore Street and Wabash Avenue and the bids for the Milligan Park paving project.
