The Crawfordsville Board of Public Works and Safety approved several agenda items Wednesday including and upcoming fundraising event for the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County.
The board approved a request from AWL to close Pike Street at Pike Place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 for a Halloween fundraising event.
The board also approved a request from Veteran Tree Service for a road closure on Wabash Avenue between the intersections of Marshall and Crawford streets from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 5 in order to remove a hazardous tree in front of 603 W. Wabash Ave. An agreement between the city and Veteran Tree Service was also approved for tree management services including risk assessments and inventorying the trees in the city. This agreement is for a consultation of $75 an hour.
In other business, the board:
• Approved a request to place a dumpster at the dead end of Elston Avenue near the back entrance of the Lew Wallace Study from Aug. 20 through Aug. 24 for the Taste of Montgomery County.
• Approved a mowing work order request from the city’s Code Enforcement Officer Barry Lewis for the property at 818 S. Washington St. owned by Andrew Adams.
