Board OKs fund transfer for body camera upgrades

The Crawfordsville Board of Public Works and Safety approved a transfer of funds for body camera upgrades and took under advisement a bid for a barn replacement project during its meeting Wednesday.

Board members approved transferring $34,578 within the Crawfordsville Police Department budget from the vehicle line item to the body camera line item to fund body camera and system upgrades.

The board also took under advisement a bid for a barn replacement project at the city’s Yard Waste Site. One bid was received from Biddle Construction in the amount of $211,254.

In other business, the board approved an engagement letter related to the issuance of State Revolving Fund revenue bonds for the wastewater department’s upcoming digester lid replacement project for financial advisory services not to exceed $45,000.

The board approved a request from Versiti Blood Center of Indiana to use seven parking spaces in front of the Crawfordsville District Public Library on the west side of Washington Street from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 1.

Members also approved a request from Maddy Combs to place a dumpster at 316 W. Pike St. The dumpster will be located on Wilhoit Street in front of her garage beginning June 17 and remain in place for 10 days.

Additionally, the board approved work order requests submitted by Code Enforcement Officer Barry Lewis to mow properties at 505 E. Market St., 1000 E. Market St. and 1509 Elmore St. A work order also was approved for mowing and trash cleanup at 1080 Corey Blvd.
