The Crawfordsville Board of Public Works and Safety approved requests Wednesday related to an upcoming Halloween event and the Montgomery County Pride Festival.
The board approved a request from Derek Logsdon to close Parke Avenue from Valley Drive to North Drive from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 31 for a Halloween trick-or-treating event.
Logsdon has set up a candy shop in front of his home each year for Halloween. This year, the event is expanding with sponsors, including Smitty D’s Hotdog Cart, which will give away 250 free hot dogs.
The board also approved a request from Morgan Vesey to close Pike Street at Pike Place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 24 for the MoCo Pride Festival. The festival is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day.
The board also approved mowing work orders presented by Barry Lewis, code enforcement officer, for the following properties: 705/707 S. Washington St., owned by Rusty and Erin Stevens; 807 Shade Lane, owned by Pacton Properties/Karina Cam; and 1606 Edgewood Drive, owned by Joshua Osterdoubt.
