The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County seeks art entries for its 2026 Community Art Show, Memory, highlighting the people and places of Montgomery County. The show will feature artwork that evokes personal or collective memories. Submissions are due Aug. 8.
Professional and amateur artists are welcome to submit work for consideration. Children’s art is welcome. Art works will be returned to the artist at the conclusion of the exhibit.
The theme asks community members to present artwork of any variety on personal or collective memories. From favorite childhood toys and activities, to sports championships, historical events, or cultural traditions — memory is at once personal and collective.
Artists should send images of their art to Janna Bennett at info@carnegiemuseum.in.gov or call 765-362-4622 to make an appointment to show the work or to make other arrangements to view potential art work. Submission deadline is Aug. 8. A decision will be made by the curatorial team by Aug. 14 on selection of art to be included.
The exhibit will be on display from Aug. 22 to Oct. 31.
The Carnegie Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as Tuesdays in June and July. Admission to the museum is free, and the building is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
