Carolyn June (Sackmire) Millikan, 83, of Holgate, Ohio and formerly of Kingman, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020, at Vancrest Health Care in Holgate, Ohio.
She was born Dec. 5, 1936, at Crawfordsville, to the late Harold and Roma (Allen) Sackmire.
Carolyn graduated from Kingman High School in 1954. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She spent many years assisting others within the community, in their homes as they aged. She loved visiting with those she cared for as well as preparing meals for and with them. Prior to her caretaking roll she worked different jobs such as a telephone operator, librarian and served as treasurer for the Kingman United Methodist Church for several years. Carolyn enjoyed sitting on her porch and visiting with friends and neighbors. She loved going on trips with her sisters and friends, exploring new communities and restaurants, and she really loved playing the piano. She also enjoyed a fun and friendly game of cards as well as her monthly “sister’s night” with her three sisters.
She is survived by daughters, Joni Crowder of Round Rock, Texas, and Mia Millikan of Terre Haute; son Scott (Suzanne) Millikan of Napoleon, Ohio; sister Phyllis (Duane) Woodrow of Kingman; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Sarah, Hannah and Levi; great-grandchild Ezekiel; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Betty Jean (Kenny) Majors and Alberta (James) Ellis.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S. First St., Kingman. Pastor Doug Newnum will officiate. The service will be live streamed and recorded which can be viewed on Carolyn’s obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
