Catch Mark Twain at MDT

HILLSBORO — Myers Dinner Theater in Hillsboro will bring its first Theatre for Young Audiences production of 2023, Twain’s Tale of Tom and Huck. 

This adaptation of Mark Twain’ sthe Adventures of Tom Sawyer is written by Georgette Kleier. The production is directed by TJ Bird. The audience is guided through this familiar classic by none other than Mark Twain himself.

The cast will feature all MDT veterans, Don Hart (Mark Twain), Matthew Porter (Tom Sawyer), Cooper Fitch (Huckleberry Finn), Love Ruddell (Becky Thatcher), Jamie Rediger (Aunt Polly), Trent Mosty (Judge Thatcher/Doc Robinson), Henry Allan (Muff Potter), Eli Miller (Sidney) and Matthew Hawkins (Joe).

This musical, with music and lyrics by Bill Corcoran, will bring lots of laughter and enjoyment to students and give them a fresh take on a well-known story of friendship and integrity.

Twain’s Tale of Tom and Huck opens Thursday and will feature Thursday and Friday matinee performances through July 21. The matinee seating is at 11:30 a.m. with the performance at 1 p.m.  A sack lunch will be provided.

Ticket prices for TYA shows are adults ($20, plu tax) and students ($15, plus tax).

Myers Dinner Theatre is located at 108 Water St., Hillsboro, and is handicap accessible.
