A new centerpiece was installed Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Park on South Washington Street. The nearly 11-foot-tall statue and 23-foot-wide monument was donated by Allen Monument Company and installed by BNL Engineering. The statue depicts a Vietnam era soldier that is flanked by two jet black granite panels. Each panel contains laser-etched military scenes. The center granite piece is inscribed with the words, “Honoring Those Who Served.”
