Chargers and Mustangs compete on the mat and in the pool

It was a very busy night at Fountain Central on Tuesday. Along with a boys and girls basketball hosting North Montgomery, the swim and dive teams and wrestling also competed against each other.

Chargers take down Mustangs on mat

North Montgomery ended up winners on the mat Tuesday over the Mustangs with a 54-21 win. Jayden Thompson at 157 pounds secured a pin over FC’s Bryson Davis. Dallas Simmons (126), Ayden Donaldson (132), and Dakoda Willoughby (138) all secured wins for the Mustangs. North received forfeits at 106, 113, and 120, 150, 175, and 190 pounds.

Chargers and Mustangs split in the pool

Over in the FC pool North Montgomery and Fountain Central split with the NM girls coming away with a 118-68 win while the FC boys earned a close 73-70 victory. Annabel Anderson, and Brooklyn Kearns both won multiple events for the Charger girls as did Kylie Sankey. Jack Rogers took home mutiple wins for the Charger boys.

For FC, William Armstrong set a new six dive record with a score of 159.5 in his first high school meet.

The Charger girls improve to 3-0  on the season while the FC boys begin thier season 1-0.
