Charles R. Price, 91, of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 9, 2021, at Whitlock Place.
Charlie retired from Merchant’s Bank as a trust officer, having served in that role for many years when it was called Elston Bank. He was an avid Red Sox fan that coached little league for many years and later was baseball coach for the Eagles. He was a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church, where he taught Sunday school for more than 50 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Scottish Rite and Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He served in the National Guard.
Born March 13, 1929, at Covington, he was the son of Archie Price and Ruby Shaw Price. He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1947 and Wabash College in 1951 with a history degree. He married Patricia Coady Pishaw on June 25, 1961.
Surviving family includes: wife Pat Price; two sons, David (Sarah) Price and Tom (Kelly) Price; three daughters, Laura (Greg) Binford, Sally (Joe) Chamness and Jane (Phil) Pirani; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sister Martha Bausch.
He was preceded in death by brother John Price.
Private services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Woodland Heights Christian Church, led by Pastor Steve Wilke. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery South. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to F.I.S.H. Food Pantry, P.O. 261, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
