Swick leads Bulldogs to pair of wins

Southmont graduate and former standout basketball player Kaleb Swick helped Adrian College to a pair of men’s basketball wins just before Christmas to even the Bulldogs record at 5-5.

Swick scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds in Adrian’s 82-61 win over Loras, and six points, five rebounds, and three assists in the Bulldogs 94-87 win over Hiram.

Swick is averaging 6.9 points per game, and 4.6 rebounds.

Webster earns spot in lineup at Midlands

North Montgomery graduate and current redshirt sophomore at Purdue, cracked into the starting lineup for one of the Boilermakers biggest in-season tournaments of the year.

Webster competed at 165 pounds in last weekend’s 57th annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships in Chicago, falling to North Carolina’s Sawyer Davidson in the opening round, before defeated Northwestern’s Ankhaa Enkhmandakh 6-5 in the consolation round. Webster was then eliminated by Indiana’s Nick South in a 4-3 decision.

Purdue finished eighth overall out of 35 teams – as Dylan Lydy (174) and Christian Brunner (197) each earned titles.

Williams goes for career-high

Fountain Central graduate Macee Williams scored a career-high 33 points in IUPUI’s 78-53 win over Cleveland State on Monday. Williams also grabbed 13 rebounds en route to her eighth double-double of the season.

The win pushes the Jaguars to 7-6 overall and 1-1 in Horizon League play. They host Oakland tonight at 7 p.m.

Williams, a junior and the defending Horizon League Player of the Year, is averaging 16.5 points per game, and 9.8 rebounds.

Schaub helps Senators to win

North Montgomery graduate Christopher Schaub has helped the Davis and Elkins men’s swimming and diving team get off to a 3-1 start on the season, and earn a win at the Corbiere-Merion Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan.

In the Senators most recent meet, a 170-92 win over Frostburg State, Schaub swam to a third-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:38.77.

Bushman competes for Illinois College

North Montgomery graduate Monte Bushman is competing as a freshman for Illinois College’s men’s swimming and diving team.

In the Blueboys’ most recent meet, a second place finish in their winter invitational, Bushman placed sixth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.47, and eighth in the 100 freestyle in 58.51 seconds. Bushman was also eighth in the 50 butterfly in 28.13 seconds.
