Parson, Greyhounds undefeated

Former North Montgomery standout Alex Parsons and the UIndy football team is 6-0 and ranked No. 10 in NCAA Division II. 

The senior has 28 tackles, including 8 1/2 tackles for a loss and 1 1/2 sacks on the season.

The Greyhounds have outascored their opponents 302-83 and host Missouri S&T at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Dugger improving at UIndy

For Southmont distance runner Kelsey Dugger turned in a person best performance with a time of 18:47 in the 5K at the Louisville Classic earlier this month.

Dugger completed a 6K in 25:04 on Oct. 12 as UIndy placed 19th at the Lewis University Crossover Classic.

Long competes in open race

While IUPUI’s Men’s Cross Country team won the White race at the Under Armour Pre-National at the LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, former Southmont standout Brooks Long placed 99th in the open 8K race with a time of 27:30.

Former Crawfordsville distance runner Maddy Hurt placed 145th in the Under Armour Pre-National at the LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Huate, helping her Southern Illinois team to a 25th-place finish.

Williams named

 Pre-Season POTY

Following a player of the year honor in the Horizon League as a sophomore, former Fountain Central star Macee Williams has once again been named the preseason player of the year in the Horizon League.

Williams led IUPUI to a 20-win season last year by averaging a league-best 16.1 points-per-game, and 8.8 rebounds per game.

IUPUI opens the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at home against Ball State.
