In the last meeting of the year, Montgomery County Commissioners approved a re-zoning request and an increase in county health department fees.

Woodland Heights Christian Church is selling their land located north of East Union Drive on S.R. 47 North. At one time the 43 acres was earmarked to build a new church, however plans have changed and they have found a buyer for the property.

Since the land transaction is still in process the name of the buyer was not disclosed, but the purpose will be the construction of a warehouse. In order for the church to sell the property, it needed to be re-zoned from agricultural to commercial. The property presently is wooded grassland.

A group of residents living near the proposed project attended the meeting. Resident Carolyn Snyder, who resides in an adjoining condominium subdivision, said the planned 100-foot buffer between the warehouse and the condos is OK with residents.

Commissioner John Frey said health department fees have not been increase since 1998.
