Community Art Show opens at Carnegie Museum

The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County will open the Fifth annual Community Art Show, Memory, on Saturday with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Memory features 35 pieces of art by 28 local artists. Each piece of art evokes personal or collective memories of the people or places of Indiana.

The 28 artists featured in Memory are: Michael Austin, Georgie Benge, Kelly (Birdie) Benge, Oaklay Benge, Robbie Bernhardt, Will Bernhardt, Michael Bowman, Shirley Burd, Nina Cunningham, Sarah Enz, Jazerik Garman, Kathy Houghton, Miranda Kenney, Aiala Levy, Alicia MacIsaac, Laura Murphy, Abigail Olmstead, Nysia Orsborn, Karen Patton, Destiny Skaggs, Kathy Steele, Michael Stevenson, Betsy Strain, Kelli Stacey, Correna Gilstrap Vellner, Pearl Weedman, Lucille Weedman, and Lori Wernsman.

The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 31.

The Carnegie Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Admission is free. The building at 222 S. Washington St. is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
