Thanks & More

Community Thanksgiving Dinner organizers share gratitude

For all the great people God sent our way to donate their time, talent, food/monetary donations — anyway they might have helped — we are grateful.

We had another successful year and we served around 943 Thanksgiving meals this year.

God continues to bless us every year with the right people to help us in every way possible.

It is amazing how different each year has been with different challenges to face and still watching it all come together. Every year we have new volunteers and volunteers that have helped for any years. We know that without God’s hands on this wonderful Thanksgiving dinner it would not be possible.

To God be the glory. We served 168 meals inside, 632 meals were delivered and 146 meals were picked up for takeout.

It was great to see all the people fill the room and enjoy the fellowship, good music and good food. Thank you to Pastor JR Rouse for the wonderful sermon and prayer before the meal. Thank you to the music by Don Baker, Tim Grino and Rick Holmstrum for performing to make the atmosphere even better. Thank you to the advertiser, to get the word out, the florist with the beautiful centerpieces, the artwork from Hose Elementary school and Rainbows & Rhymes and all the volunteers that gave up their time on Wednesday before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day. Thank you for all the people and businesses donating money and food. We would like to give a big thanks to the people that are there every year to take care of certain things and make everything run smoothly. Also, we need a lot of turkeys to feed this many people and Nucor donates the majority of the turkeys and Rick Warner cooks a lot of them for us. We would like to thank the First United Methodist Church for the use of their building and facilities along with the volunteers to prepare and serve this meal for so many people on Thanksgiving Day.

Thank you so much to everyone and we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Mark and Sheila Zachary, Chairpersons of the Community Thanksgiving Dinner
