The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners on Monday signed agreements with two real estate appraisal firms that will appraise the South Boulevard County Building before the property can be placed on the market.
The building will be vacated next year when offices move into the new government center off of Lafayette Road.
The appraisals will be performed by Masten Real Estate Services, based in Greencastle, and Don R. Scheidt & Co., which has offices in Lafayette. Both reports are expected to be delivered by December.
Offices housed in the building include building and zoning, surveyor and the veterans services. Before the county moved in, the property housed the Indiana Department of Transportation garage.
Construction remains underway on the government center in the former Williamsburg Health Care facility. The building will also house offices currently located on the first floor of the courthouse.
A timeline for the rest of the project is expected to arrive this week, county administrator Tom Klein said in his report to the Crawfordsville/Montgomery County Economic Development Authority on Monday.
