Crawfordsville Police is adding another car to its fleet of vehicles.

The Board of Public Works and Safety on Wednesday approved a bid for a 2019 Dodge Charger from York. Bids were also received from Franklin-based Fletcher and Lafayette-based Twin City. York’s bid came in at $23,876.

Last week, the department received the board’s approval to purchase several vehicles from Fletcher.

“We had misbid our vehicle quotes, so we needed another vehicle which we do have the funding for,” police chief Mike Norman said.

In other business, the board:

• Approved a request from Lisa Gobel to use two parking spaces in front of Pike Place from 1 to 5:30 p.m. July 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30 to set up a Hawaiian Shaved Ice food truck.

• Accepted a request from Robb Williamson of RT Insurance for extra time to use the dumpster in front of his business until Friday.
