Position statement 1:

What specific experiences and skills qualify you to be a Superior Court Judge? I have been practicing law in Montgomery County for the past 10 years handling a wide variety of cases that come before this Court. I was born and raised in this community and continue to live here with my wife and two children. The role of judge is to understand the law and rule in ways to uphold it while also ensuring the well-being of this county. My experience in the courtroom, my experience serving local organizations, and my experience with the people of Montgomery County make me uniquely qualified for the position. I also was a founding member of the Montgomery County Veterans Treatment Court, which I plan to continue. The treatment Court was established to provide services to our veterans who have become involved in the criminal justice system. I am truly thankful for what our men and women of the armed services have done for us and want to continue to serve them after they come home. My experience in the courtroom addressing addiction and substance abuse has given me a wealth of knowledge and access to resources to help those in our community affected by drugs. For the past several years, many new and innovative services have been provided to those struggling with addiction and their families. I want to work with the existing services to help those in need while always looking for new ways to try and address the substance abuse in our community.

Position statement 2:

What actions will you take to improve the judicial system within Montgomery County? As the entire legal profession continues to progress technologically, and as all courts are coping with the challenges of COVID-19, I will take actions in conjunction with the other courts to ensure that we have technological capabilities to succeed. I have seen all of our courts operate well by working together with other county officials, law enforcement, and social service providers. That collaboration needs to continue and the strong relationships I have with multiple community leaders will help me to make sure it does. Over the past several years, multiple pro bono services have been offered to the community to provide free access to attorneys to help people gain access to the legal help they need. My goal is to make sure everyone has access to our courts. I want to work with the different pro bono legal organizations to make sure that trend continues.

Position statement 3:

What do you want voters to know about you before they cast their ballot? One thing my parents raised me to do is to care for and work for the betterment of my neighbors. That is why I’m running for this office.

Position statement 4:

What is the greatest concern that you hear from local citizens? People in this community have two main concerns: their own safety and the well-being of this county’s children. They want to know that the system of justice in their community is concerned first and foremost with keeping its citizenry safe. It is always my goal to do that. They also want to make sure that any decision regarding children, whether it be in a divorce, appointing a guardian, or when the DCS is involved, aims to serve the best interest of those children above all else. That is something I’m always aware of and will constantly strive to do for this community’s children.
