David ‘Randy’ Tauscher

David “Randy” Tauscher of New Richmond passed away Oct. 10, 2023, at home, surrounded by his daughters and wife. He was 76 years old.

Born May 24, 1947, at Crawfordsville, to Cora Mount and Roland Tauscher. Randy graduated Crawfordsville High School and then joined the Army National Guard. He worked at Francis and Mount grocery store before working at Raybestos, joining the Carpenters Union, and working at his family’s business, Sugar Creek Industries.

On Dec. 21, 1985, Randy married Susan Elburn. They spent 37 years together. Randy was a devoted son, cherished husband, loving father, proud papaw, protective brother and amazing friend. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, mushrooming, woodworking, spending time with friends and family. He was a jack of all trades, there was little he could not do. Randy was a faithful believer in God and The Constitution, “Now that I have passed, please don’t let me vote Democrat in the next election.”

Surviving are wife Susan Tauscher; daughters, Ginger (Mitch) McDevitt and Cinnamon (Mike) Walton; granddaughter Taylor (Jacob) Burris; great-grandchildren Jacen, Maecee and Leah; sister Tammy (Bob) Surface; and Erick Coffman, who was like a son to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and former wife Vena Frey Tauscher.

Cremation arrangement where entrusted by Burkhart Funeral Home. A private celebration of life is planned for the spring.
