Community members gathered at the Fusion 54 building Wednesday morning for a welcome ceremony before heading out to volunteer projects as part of the third annual Community Day of Service. Organized by the Montgomery County Leadership Academy and six partner agencies, the event brought together individuals, families, businesses, civic groups and community teams to complete projects benefiting 13 local nonprofit and community organizations. The day was made possible through a 9/11 Day of Service Grant, with volunteers working on projects such as cleaning, painting and organizing.
