Dealing with life’s mountains

Posted

As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are not guaranteed a life without problems, an easy life. We will face mountains at times, hardships, health problems, difficulties and trials throughout our lives. What do we do when dealing with what appears to be an impossible problem or obstacle. Do we quit? Do we give up? Do we panic? The Lord tells us, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you” (Matthew 17:20).

When God puts before us a task for His glory or allows a trial to enter our lives, He takes full responsibility for removing the hindrances that would keep us from succeeding. Because this is true, we must respond in faith. We may be standing at the brink of a great blessing, and the only thing standing between us and what our heart desires is a step of faith: But with the Lord you can do it.

What mountain is looming before you today? What do you see as an impossible situation? Is it health, finances, work, family or other relationships? No matter what you are facing or how seemingly difficult the problem may be, look toward the Lord for victory. I love the Psalm 121, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from where cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (verses 1-2). The Lord God is our unfailing, eternal hope who can move any obstacle when we trust Him.

Thank the Lord today for making a way for you and leading you into victory. He has the love and power to overcome the mountain that stands before you. Express and act in faith in His eternal, all-powerful provision.
