Delta Theta Tau

The 114th National Convention of Delta Theta Tau Sorority Inc. was held July 6-10 at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort with the theme, “The Roaring 20s – Delta Style.”

Delegates from 58 chapters were represented. Delegate from Epsilon Omega Chapter, Crawfordsville, was Gloria Long; attending from Theta Lambda Chapter, Roachdale, were delegate Annie Cloncs and non-delegate Diana Williams.

National President Terry Riester, Lambda Nu Chapter, Mooresville, presided at the business meetings during the convention. Terry chose as her theme, “Delts ROCK! The Lemonade Tour,” for her year at the helm of the organization,

The total from all chapters donated to philanthropic projects during the 2020-21 year was $346,664.40.  The members supported their communities with 83,269.25 volunteer hours during the past year. Awards were given to chapters with the highest amount of money given for philanthropy, and also for the chapters with the most volunteer hours. Theta Lambda Chapter was among the top 10 chapters in philanthropic hours.

Delta Theta Tau has been a supporter of the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias for more than 20 years. The sorority’s Educational Grant program enables students to continue their studies in the graduate field of counseling. The delegation voted to give $10,000 to NFED and allotted $5,000 for Educational Grants to be used in the year 2022-2023.

Julie Callis of Lambda Theta Chapter, Martinsville, was elected to serve as 2022-23 National President.

Delta Theta Tau, a national philanthropic sorority, was founded in 1903 in Muncie, by five high school girls. The first national convention was held in 1908 at Elwood.  The 115th National Convention will be held July 12-16, 2023, at the Fort Worth Sheraton, Fort Worth, Texas.
