Organizers of the 2021 Montgomery County Community Christmas Dinner report that the annual event was a “huge success.”

Joyce Fitzwater, dinner chairperson, said the committee and volunteers served more than 1,100 meals on Dec. 25, of which about 850 were delivered to area homes.

“We were very happy to again be able to serve in our nicely decorated dining hall and once again had a visit from Santa Claus,” she said. “He was happy to see everyone and gave out some nice Christmas presents.”

Fitzwater said organizers were “overly blessed” by monetary donations from area businesses and individuals.

“This assured that all had plenty to eat and some nice extras for home delivery and dine in,” Fitzwater said. “I personally want to thank all the great volunteers this year, how you stepped up to serve your community and make this a successful event.”

Organizers acknowledged and thanks some of the businesses that played a significant role this year, including C&F Fabricating, Nucor Steel, Byron Cox Post 72, Hoosier Heartland State Bank, Sons of American Legion, First Baptist Church, Arni’s Restaurant, Acuity Brands Lighting, Pace Dairy, Crawfordsville Paper Products, Bon Appetit, Lakeside Press, B&L Engineering, Davis Morrison Reality, High Road PC - Hess, J.M. Thompson Insurance, Tri-County Bank & Trust, PRKD and Zahn’s Floor Covering.
