Donald L. Sarver, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at St Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, with his family by his side.
He was born Nov. 7, 1935, at Yountsville, to Hobart and Ruby Sarver.
Don was an avid fisherman and reader of his Bible. He graduated in 1953 from Alamo High School. He participated in several sports and excelled in basketball.
Don is survived by wife Dorothy (Ward) Sarver of Crawfordsville; daughter Kimberly Sarver Pickett of Crawfordsville; son Andrew Pickett of Crawfordsville; four grandsons, Jared (Angela) Pickett of Crawfordsville, Kasey Pickett of Lafayette, Joshua (Kelsie) Sarver of Crawfordsville and Jacob Sarver of Crawfordsville; three great-grandchildren, Bryleigh Penter, Briatta Goodnight and Abigail Rinsis; five great-great-grandchildren, Wren, Navi, Kaiden, Owen and Emberlynn; two nieces, Darlene Tally and Deborah Stewart; and two nephews, Gerry Beecher and Ben Beecher.
Don was preceded in death by son Scott L. Sarver; his parents; brother Glen Sarver; and sister Alma Beecher.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, a simple cremation will take place with graveside services planned for June 2024, exact date to be determined.
