Posted

Abigail Eutsler of Linden was named to the Fall Semester 2023 Dean’s List in the Butler University Jordan College of the Arts. The Dean’s list recognizes students whose grade point average is in the top 20 percent of all eligible students in their college of enrollment. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance and choral music education in the School of Music and is a student in the Honors Program, which engages students in interdisciplinary academics.

During the Fall Semester, Eutsler taught grades K-3 choir at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation in its Religious School using Shireinu, a compendium of Jewish songs to enhance education and worship. She is currently a Teaching Artist at the Butler Community Arts School, an initiative of the Jordan College of the Arts.

Eutsler is a member of the President’s Club in recognition of her gift to the School of Music to acquire more diverse repertoire for its music library and to assemble a group of diverse classical musicians from the Indianapolis area to talk with Butler voice students about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the opera world. She donated a portion of the proceeds from the Efroymson Prize for Diversity in Vocal Performance, which she received in her freshman year. She is serving as the 2023-24 Zeta Chapter President of the Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity.

Eutsler studies privately with Dr. Oliver Worthington, Butler University’s Voice Area Coordinator and the Producing Director of Butler Opera Theatre. She is a member of the University Chorale and will perform throughout Brazil, South America, in May, when members of the Chorale and Indianapolis Symphonic Choir tour throughout the country. The tour will feature selections from Brazilian composers Tom Jobim and Heitor Villa-Lobos. Lafayette native and Wabash College alumnus Dr. Eric Stark conducts both the Chorale and ISC.
