Mustangs open season with win

The Fountain Central volleyball team swept Tri-County (25-10, 25-10, 25-13) in its season opener on Saturday afternoon.

Lillie Fishero led the Mustangs (1-0) with seven kills, five aces, 11 digs and 13 assists.. Marley Massey had 22 digs and three assists, while Chloe Golia had seven kills and a dig.

Jerzi Hershberger had four aces and six digs, while Trinity Lindquist chipped in eight assists, a dig and an ace. 

Fountain Central returns to the court on Thursday at Delphi.

Cross Country

FC distance crew competes at invite

The Fountain Central cross country teams competed at the Clinton Prairie Invite on Saturday morning to kick off the 2020 season.

Carson Pietrzak paced the boys’ team with a 17th place finish in a time of 20:18, while Dan Adams was 24th in 21:37. Hayden Kler placed 29th with a time of 22:10. Justin Butts 31st in 22:56, and Ethan Mellady 36th in 24:12. Matt York was 36th with a tme of 24:12. 

On the girls side, Tyler Bowling was 20th with a time of 26:45, while Kenna Bible was 24th in 27:36. Courtney Sims placed 32nd with a time of 29:22.

The Mustangs return to the course on Thursday at Hanging Rock Camp for the Seeger Hokum Karem.
