LADOGA — The Ladoga Fire Department responded to a house fire Sunday morning in the 7900 block of Ladoga Road that left the home significantly damaged and uninhabitable for the time being.
According to the fire department, the initial dispatch was for a structure collapse, but crews learned the incident was a structure fire while responding.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the upstairs windows of a two-story residence. All residents had evacuated before crews arrived.
Ladoga firefighters launched an interior attack and brought the fire under control. Emergency medical responders evaluated two residents for possible smoke inhalation. Both were OK, and no injuries were reported.
The home was not a total loss, but significant damage upstairs and water damage downstairs left it unlivable, the department said.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
Ladoga Fire was assisted by New Market Fire, Walnut Township Fire, Crawfordsville Medic 54, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Ladoga Utilities.
