Crawfordsville track and field coach Sean Gerold says he feels bad for his group of seniors, and has reminded all of his athletes to keep working hard in the event their seasons are able to continue.

“This is really an unfortunate situation for all of our spring athletes,” he said. “I feel very bad for our seniors who had worked for four years for this moment. We are encouraging them to stay active and stay in shape during the social distancing. We’ve sent out text reminders via the Remind app and encouraged the kids to keep working hard and stay in shape in the event we get to continue our season.”

The Athenians track and field season was set to begin on March 13 when COVID-19 canceled their season opener.
